The Les Rochettes is a blend of primarily Chenin Blanc with smaller amounts of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris from estate vineyards located in the Anjou's prestigious subdistrict of Coteaux du Layon. The wine is full of classic Chenin Blanc loveliness: Juicy pears, yellow apples, chamomile and minerals glide across a medium-bodied palate, finishing long. It's dry but not bone dry. This immensely food-friendly wine will have a place of honor among the wines at my Thankgiving celebration. It should probably be at yours as well.
